Since mid-March, members of our lab have been working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although this abrupt change disrupted some of our work, we are very grateful that we’ve been able to stay productive at home while prioritizing our health and safety. These months of remote work have proven to be quite eventful, and we have many things to celebrate!
- Danielle Cerbon has been accepted into a radiology oncology residency program at the University of Arizona! Thankfully she won’t be leaving us yet, since she is completing her intern year at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
- Scott Jordan is graduating from his gynecologic oncology fellowship this summer and will be going into private practice at Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
- Alex Sanchez earned his Master’s in clinical and translational investigation, and will be starting his PhD in cancer biology in the fall under Dr. George’s mentorship.
- Iru gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Sarai Joshi, on the 18th of May. Welcome to the world, Sarai!
- We are also welcoming two new lab members: Alexandra and Sandy. Alexandra started her work as a research volunteer with the George Lab the week before we began to work remotely. She has continued working from home, and we hope she’ll be able to come back to the lab in person this summer. Sandy is our new research fellow for the summer, as part of the SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) program at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Congratulations to everyone!
